Cybersecurity in Wartime: Challenges for the State and Business
08Aug
Our colleague, Yuriy Gatupov, Labyrinth's CCO, participated in the panel discussion "Key lessons for companies' security" at Lviv IT Cluster's conference, which was held on August 3.
"IT Meets Tech: Cybersecurity" conference was organized by Lviv IT Cluster with the support of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and the USAID Project "Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure".
The event's target audience was government agency representatives and critical infrastructure facilities. Leading experts in cybersecurity, IT technologies, and information protection helped the participants understand the threats in cyberspace and find the right approaches to strengthen their cyber resilience.
The key issue raised during the speeches was what conclusions the state and, especially, business should draw in order to ensure interaction and form an effective cyber defense system.
Businesses should realize that they have two options: 1) to wait until an attack occurs and then try to save their systems, or 2) to look for shortcomings in advance, including with the help of specialists from government agencies, and implement an effective defense system and reduce the likelihood of a successful attack to an acceptable level.
"We work with innovations that are developing every day. If we do not share the latest developments with each other, we will be left behind. The topic of cyber defense is important nowadays both for Ukraine and globally, given the global trends and the aggressive war waged by Russia. Every day the enemy attacks us in cyberspace. That's why we have gathered experts who can share useful knowledge and interesting thoughts with IT Meets attendees. And yes, to help them protect themselves, their businesses, and government agencies from cyberattacks," added Ivan Babichuk, representative of the Supervisory Board of Lviv IT Cluster.
Threats change daily, so security systems need to be constantly improved. Therefore Labyrinth's team is continuously improving our platform to provide the most efficient protection for our clients.
